Filters are great, but skincare is better!

It's September already?? We’re all busy at back-to-school time but for teens who struggle with acne, this can be one of the most difficult times to prevent and control flareups. The stress, added responsibilities, and increased activity can all be triggers for acne breakouts. And all the extra things on the to-do list can mean teens have less time for their daily skincare routine.

The good news is that a good anti-acne regimen doesn’t have to be complicated and is usually three steps:

  1. Cleanse morning and night AND after sweating, but the after sweating can be wipes!

    1. I recommend one of the GlymedPlus Serious Action cleansers for am and pm.

    2. The post-workout/after school/after practice wipes can be Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing or Burt’s Bees Calming. The point is to get any excess oil and dirt off the face as quickly as possible, not to treat acne, so mild products are best.

  1. Tone

    1. Use my O2 Spray or

    2. one of GlymedPlus’ Astringents, usually No. 2 is plenty.

  1. Moisturize morning and night

    1. SPF in the morning. I have great news that the CeraVe Light SPF 30 Daytime Moisturizer is back in stock!

    2. Light moisturizer in the evening – Skin Script Light Aloe or Ageless

That’s all it takes to really make a difference your teen’s skin. Other products can be added for spot treatment and the redness caused by the breakout as needed. Come see us for a consultation and product recommendations. This will be easier to schedule because we are now open on Mondays including holidays!!! Deep breaths, Erin
