Jennifer came with a friend on June 18, 2021, after purchasing one of our Dermaplane Groupons. She was a beautiful 44-year-old who spent her summers reading at the water park and all that sun had created sun-damaged skin:

She came back on July 9th, became a monthly member of Pure Glow and I performed the first of many peels to start our work on removing the damaged skin (and the pigmentation resulting from the damage!). It was a 50% Lactic Acid peel which she tolerated like a champ, and we never looked back.
We offer monthly memberships because consistency is key in corrective treatment plans. Every time you come in for your monthly treatment, your skin starts a new cell turnover cycle which is crucial for younger-looking healthy skin. Think about going to the gym, you don’t go once and become instantly in shape for the rest of your life, right? You have to go consistently, changing up your workouts to keep it interesting and to surprise your muscles.
The skin works the same way, consistent results-driven treatments combined with the right professional products are the ways to achieve your skin goals.

What is TCA??? TCA stands for Trichloroacetic Acid and consists of replacing the hydrogen atoms with chlorine atoms. Very helpful, right? What you need to know is that it is a medium-depth peel that exfoliates the skin to improve texture, tone, and address conditions like sun damage (think pigmentation, age spots, brown spots), wrinkles, and acne scars. It works by causing the outer layer of skin to peel off, revealing new, smoother skin beneath.
TCA is my go-to for removing stubborn pigmentation caused by sun damage, aging and melasma because it works. It works better than IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and it’s safe for all skin types and tones including melasma – IPL is not safe for melasma because it can make it worse.
We also threw in a few microcurrent treatments for lifting and firming and collagen for skin health and strength. Plus a few Hydrafacials for instant gratification!

To sum it up, we combined chemical peels with other treatments to help your skin look healthier, with fewer lines and less visible pigmentation. It's not a quick fix—pigmentation is stubborn, develops over time, and starts deep in the skin. IPL can help with surface discoloration and brightening, but for deeper spots and long-term results, treatments like TCA are a safer and more effective option.
And here is where Jennifer is now!

She almost looks like a different person. Throughout the process I sent her Before and After photos to show her the changes and she would say, “You know Erin, I just don’t see that much difference.” When I sent her the comparison above, her response was “Oh wow.”
This is why I love what I do. Nothing is more rewarding than helping my clients feel confident about their skin because, if you think about it, would you say you feel confident about your skin? It’s a bigger achievement than you might think, and it can completely change your life.
